Your Daily Health Pearl Minute # 25
I know many of you have heard of flax seed oil?
There are over 300 published research papers about this ancient plant and the positive effects it has on our bodies.
More than 60 health conditions could be avoided or would improve when 1 or 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil are incorporated in our daily diet, including the 3 major killers of Americans: heart disease, cancer, and strokes!
Flax seed is the richest source of the essential fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6. These are important in the composition of membranes of practically all cells in the body.
The best temperature to press the seeds in order to preserve its beneficial compounds is achieved when the oil is “cold-pressed” at a temperature below 43º Celsius, which is 110º Fahrenheit.
When buying flaxseed-oil make sure the bottle is dark…, light resistant…, and at home it should be kept refrigerated.
Many people rather take ONE or TWO capsules of flax oil daily than ONE tablespoon. But let me tell you that it takes 14 capsules to equal ONE tablespoon. And… it takes THREE tablespoons of ground flaxseeds to get the benefits you find in ONE tablespoon of actual oil.
