Benefits And Deficiencies Of Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids

Your Daily Health Pearl Minute # 26
Our bodies can-not manufacture the essential fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-3 from foods we eat. They must be supplied daily in the diet, or in supplement form.
Our daily supply of Omega-6’s is usually not a problem, because they can be found in all foods containing nuts, seeds, grains, beans, as well as in the oils pressed from these, such as sesame, canola, walnut, safflower, sunflower, rice, soy, and peanut oil.
However, our digestive system has a heck-of-a-time converting that raw Omega-6 into its active component GLA, which is short for Gamma Linolenic Acid. Because of this “conversion problem” we may experience more inflammatory problems in our body.
On the other hand, most people’s daily nutrition is deficient in Omega-3, which is primarily found in fish, and in Flax and Chia seeds.
Some of the health conditions that can improve when taking Omega-3 are:
- Prevention of strokes and heart-attacks, because Omega-3 decreases the possibility of a clot that can block arteries.
- Omega-3 can lower high blood cholesterol by 25% and Triglyceride levels by as much as 65%!
- When it comes to Flax Oil, it can bring noticeable relief to people suffering with Asthma, sometimes within a few days.
- Flax-oil is also famous for its ability to make dry, irritated, and cracked skin smooth, soft, and silky, especially when living in dry climates.
- Besides that, ALL Omega-3 is considered ANTI-Inflammatory, ...something, I’m sure, we can all use these days!
