The Emotional Benefits of Kava Kava

One of the symptoms of depression is Anxiety, which is defined as “an unpleasant emotional state, ranging from mild unease to intense fear”.
In severe cases, this state-of-mind can produce what are known as “panic-attacks.”
In the olden days this feeling, especially in women, was called “hysteria.” Doctors in those days would say these emotional outbursts were linked to the uterus! If the emotions became too much to bear, they would do what is called a “hysterectomy,” taking the uterus out.
Today, many of us are simply too uptight. We’re either under too much stress from work and life itself, or our mind is too active and creates its own stress.
Isn’t it wonderful to know then that with all the prescribed tranquilizers today, there is an alternative worth looking at!
It’s called Kava Root extract, or Kava-Kava.
The active ingredients in Kava Kava are called Kavalactones.
Quite a few scientific references are listed about this herb.
Kava has many benefits for stress, anxiety, nervousness, heart palpitations, headaches, dizziness, as well as phobias.
There are hardly any side effects, when used at recommended dosage.
Kava can also significantly relieve symptoms associated with menopausal problems such as mood swings and hot flashes.
I urge you to inform yourself about Kava and to demand the same of your doctor! You deserve better than having a physician simply blow off the benefits this herb may have for your mental and emotional health.
However, if you ARE currently on any prescription antidepressant, and you like to start an alternative, work with your doctor, because getting off of these on your own can be dangerous.
