Pretty much ANY nutritional supplement needs to put on its bottle: “Statements made on the label have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease”.
For a lot of people that means supplements they buy at a store are not supported by our government and therefore may be dangerous…
That is really a very sad approach, because most products in dietary supplement form have had a very long history with trials-and-errors… eventually being recognized as safe and effective by the people using them.
Cat’s Claw is a good example. Cat’s Claw is an herb from the Amazon and South America, used in traditional Folk medicine for the treatment of cancer, arthritis, gastritis, ulcers, and certain epidemic diseases.
Its fame has spread and today is used by many people in South America including medical doctors and hospitals.
Since the mid-70’s, Austrian Scientist Klaus Keplinger has done his own research confirming the current Cat’s Claw’s uses in Peru. He also learned its anti-oxidant effect, low toxicity, its mild-contraceptive effect, and its protective therapy for tobacco-smokers.
Our FDA is behind the 8-ball on this and should not be so stingy. Many people’s lives could improve by using Cat’s Claw.
